The next live-action Star Wars show, The Mandalorian Season 3, will start on March 1, 2023. This is less than a month away. Since the most recent trailer came out during NFL Monday Night Football, fans have been making a lot of guesses about this highly anticipated third installment.
After what happened in The Book of Boba Fett, Din Djarin and Grogu are back together, and the series is expected to continue from there. The trailers show that the Mandalorian plot line is a big part of the movie. This story is about what happened on the planet Mandalore when the Empire ruled and its people were killed in a way that was like genocide. This is called the Night of a Thousand Tears. That was the last straw that made the Mandalorians split into small groups that went to different parts of the galaxy. But based on the previews, it looks like Djarin will try to make up for taking off his helmet at the end of season 2 by meeting with a few of the clans. Those are some of the most common storylines, but there’s also a lot of room for less predictable ones. Here are five crazy ideas for what will happen in Season 3 of The Mandalorian.
Mace Windu Saved Grogu During Order 66
Samuel L. Jackson hasn’t been quiet about the fact that he wants to return to the Star Wars series. He’s been saying this since Disney bought the famous series. But his character died at the end of the prequel trilogy, so any way for Mace Windu to come back would have to be tricky with time. It would have to use flashbacks or bring him back from the dead, which could make death less important in the franchise as a whole.
Fans have thought for a long time that Mace Windu might come back, but nothing in recent projects has shown that this is likely to be the case. He might come back, but if he does, it would be out of the blue. If Windu does make a big comeback, season 3 of Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni’s hit show might be the best place for it. Grogu’s past, like who saved him from the Jedi Temple on the night of Order 66, will be looked into more, as shown in the trailers. It would be a twist to find out that Mace Windu was that person who would save Grogu.
Greef Karga Dies
Many fans of the show will hope that this is not true, especially those who like Carl Weathers, who plays Greef Karga with a lot of energy and passion on the show. Karga has been in this show since the first episode. He used to be a sort of enemy of the Mandalorian, but then he switched sides and became a trusted ally again.
The Mandalorian hasn’t killed off a lot of characters. Kuiil died at the end of season 1 as one of the few examples. But Karga is going to be in this new season, so it’s possible that he’ll have the same thing happen to him. Mando doesn’t have many friends, so Karga passing would be a terrible blow to both him and Grogu.
Hayden Christensen Returns Again
This show keeps going back to the prequel trilogy, like with the flashbacks to Order 66. It’s clear that Dave Filoni’s influence has led to more content, stories, and characters from the prequel era, not just in this series but in the whole franchise. Order 66 was shown last year in Obi-Wan Kenobi, when Anakin was shown storming through the Jedi temple on Darth Sideous’s orders to kill all the Jedi.
Hayden Christensen is set to be in the new show about Ahsoka, but it doesn’t look like he will be in this third season. So, it’s interesting that Favreau and Filoni keep going back to that night at the temple with Grogu, since Darth Vader is the bad guy they’re fighting. Because of this, it’s possible that Christensen could show up again.
It is shown that Palpatine is in the galaxy
Episode IX showed that Palpatine was still alive in the years after the original trilogy. This means that he’s still around when these Disney+ shows take place. Many people think that Snoke, a pawn or clone of Palpatine, will show up in one of these shows at some point, but there isn’t much talk about the Emperor himself showing up.
It’s possible, though not likely, that Palpatine will come back here. He is still alive, and he will try to take the galaxy back for himself in the not-too-distant future. It’s only a matter of time before this conflict gets worse. Even if he doesn’t show up in person, it’s possible that his influence on the last Imperial troops and the new First Order will be shown.
Princess Leia makes a cameo
The second season of The Mandalorian was full of cameos and surprises, so this new episode is likely to be the same. But the question of who could show up is a bit more complicated. A lot of names get thrown around, like Han Solo, Boba Fett, Snoke, and more. However, there’s another important character who might just come back.
At this point in time, Princess Leia may be at the top of her game. She has a lot of power over the New Republic government and is working hard to bring order, freedom, and democracy back to the galaxy. As the stakes and size of this show keep getting bigger, it’s possible that some of the biggest heroes in the galaxy will show up. Leia fits the bill, and even though she might not be as obvious a choice as Han Solo or Luke Skywalker, it would make a lot of sense for her to come back.
