“Planning for 5G coverage in 1,000 of the nation’s biggest cities has been finished. On its 5G network, Jio has been conducting experiments for advanced use cases in the fields of industrial automation and healthcare, the company stated in a statement.
According to the government, India will launch Jio 5G in October.
According to Union Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, 5G services should begin to be offered in the nation by October. The government will attempt to assign the spectrum to successful bidders by August 10th.
However, if Jio is successful in launching Jio 5G in India in such a short amount of time, it will be the country’s first-ever deployment of Jio 5G networks. In response to a question about the spectrum purchase, Akash Ambani stated, “The company is fully ready for 5G rollout in the shortest span due to its nationwide fibre presence, all-IP network with no legacy infrastructure, indigenous 5G stack, and strong global partnership across the technology ecosystem.”

Reliance In the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) auction for the 5G rollout spectrum, Jio was the highest bidder, followed by its rivals Bharti Airtel in second place and Vodafone Idea in third. For a total of Rs 88,078 crore, Jio purchased spectrum in the 700MHz, 800MHz, 1800MHz, 3300MHz, and 26GHz bands for a 20-year period. According to the corporation, it has acquired enough spectrum to launch 5G services across the country. Additionally, it has secured the 700MHz airwaves that none of its rivals had, giving it an advantage over them in the development of 5G services.
Using a variety of services, including heat maps, 3D maps, and ray-tracing technologies, Jio said that it is currently testing the implementation of its Jio 5G services in India. Heat maps, 3D maps, and ray tracing technology are being used for precise coverage planning to target high consumption and high perception locations, according to the company.
Jio 5G is now testing 5G RAN and Core technologies that it created on its own.
Indian telecom companies have requested that the government lower the reserve price for 5G spectrum in comments they filed to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai).
Operators claim that the reserve price for the 5G spectrum needs to be decreased for the future spectrum auction by more than 90%, with no upfront payment and a 5–6 year moratorium. For the 3.3-3.6 GHz spectrum, Trai has recommended a reserve price of INR 4.92 billion (now $66.5 million) per megahertz in 2018.
India intends to award bands including the 700 MHz, 800 MHz, 900 MHz, 1.8 GHz, 2.1 GHz, 2.3 GHz, 2.5 GHz, and 3.3-3.6 GHz bands, according to earlier sources. Operators will also be able to place a bid for a millimetre-wave band spectrum during the spectrum auction.
According to a recent article from the local publication Business Standard, the Indian government anticipates that local carriers will introduce Jio 5G service in some regions of the nation by the middle of August 2022.

A source with knowledge of the situation reportedly stated that a limited 5G launch is feasible by that time if the nation’s Department of Telecommunications (DoT) makes clear the spectrum that is accessible. The Indian telecom sector wants assurances that the reserve price for 5G spectrum will be lowered, the research added.

According to the country’s communications minister, Ashwini Vaishnav, frequency awards for the delivery of 5G services are anticipated from the Indian government in April or May 2022. Vaishnav claimed that the Trai, which examines the format of auctions, is holding discussions on the subject.
