A South Korean couple has been arrested because they are accused of leaving their dead baby in a plastic kimchi container for three years. After their 15-month-old daughter died, the couple hid her for three years, according to the police.
By India Today Web Desk: Police in the city of Pocheon, Gyeonggi province, have arrested a man and woman who are accused of leaving their dead baby’s body in a container for three years. The Korea Herald said that the couple has now been arrested because they were accused of hiding their baby daughter in a plastic kimchi container.
When their 15-month-old daughter died, the couple hid her for three years, according to the police. At first, the baby’s mother denied that she had killed the baby and said that she had left the baby on the street.
But when she was questioned in a harsh way, the woman admitted that she and her husband had hidden the body of their baby. The police report said that the container the couple used to hide the body was only 35 centimeters long, 24 centimeters wide, and 17 centimeters high.
The police found out about the incident when they saw that the child wasn’t going to preschool or getting health checks. The baby’s death had been forgotten until then.
After several failed attempts to get in touch with the baby’s mother, the police filed a report on October 27. The Korean Herald said that the woman was arrested later on suspicion of breaking laws about taking care of children.
Police think that the woman left the child to die and kept the body at home. When the child’s father got out of jail, he took the child’s body to his parents’ house. Police think that he then put the body in a plastic container that was used to store kimchi and hid it on the roof.
The body was sent for an autopsy, and people are waiting for the results. In the meantime, the police are trying to figure out what happened and why.
