Satish was born in Mahendragarh, Haryana, on April 13, 1956. In 1972, he got his diploma from Kirori Mal College in Delhi. He went to the Indian National Institute of Drama and the School of Film and Television and graduated from both of them.
As an actor, he is best known for playing “The Calendar” in “Mr. India.” He also played Pappu Pager in “Deewana Mastana” and “Chanu Ahmed” in “Brick Lane” by Sarah Gavron (2007). He won the Filmfare Award for Best Comedy Actor twice, once for the movie Ram Lakhan in 1990 and again for the movie Saajan Chale Sasural in 1997.
As a stage actor, he is best known for playing “Which” in “Salesman Ramlal,” a Hindi drama based on Arthur Miller’s “Death of a Salesman.” Willy Loman’s.
He wrote the lines for Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron, which is one of Kundan Shah’s best comedies (1983).
In 2009, he made the movie Teree Sang, which was about teen pregnancy and starred Ruslaan Mumtaz and Sheena Shahabadi.
Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja, starring Sridevi, was his first movie as a director (1993). Prem, which came out in 1995, was his second film and Tabu’s first. Both bombed at the box office.  He kept making movies, and in 1999, Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain was his first big hit.
He is best known for playing “The Calendar” with Anil Kapoor and Sridevi in the hit movie “Mr. India.” He is also known for playing Pappu Pager in the comedy Deewana Mastana (1997), which was directed by his friend David Dhawan.
He wrote and hosts “Philips Top 10,” a TV countdown show, for which he won a Screen Videocon Award.
In Vaada, which came out in 2005, Kaushik was in charge of Arjun Rampal, Amisha Patel, and Zayed Khan.
In 2007, Kaushik and Anupam Kher, who worked with him at NSD, started a new film company called Karol Bagh Productions.  Satish Kaushik was in charge of her first movie, Teree Sang.
His next book is about Tansen, one of the Navaratnas at Akbar the Great’s court. Rajshri Productions is the company that makes it. Abhishek Bachchan plays Tansen, and Ravindra Jain is in charge of the music for the movie. The script for the movie is almost done. Satish Kaushik wants to help the film industry in Haryana grow, so he has promised to make five movies there.
In the new SAB TV show The Great Indian Family Drama, he plays the lead role of Nawaab Jung Bahadur. The show is made by Contiloe Productions. Now, he wants to make a follow-up to his successful movie Tere Naam (2003). He played Tayaji in the movie Udta Punjab, which just came out (2016).
