Kieran Forbes, better known by his stage name AKA, was shot and killed on Florida Road in Durban, KZN. This is breaking news. The cause of the incident is still unknown, but witnesses say that there was a fight before the guns were fired.
AKA is the stage name of South African rapper Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, who was born on January 28, 1988. Forbes was born and raised in Cape Town. He became well-known when the single Victory Lap from his first studio album Altar Ego came out (2011).
Forbes’s success continued with the release of studio albums like Levels (2014), Touch My Blood (2018), Bhovamania (2020), and Be Careful What You Wish For (2017), a collaboration with Anatii.
Forbes made a watermelon-flavored drink with the vodka brand Cruz in April 2020. The bottle had Forbes’s initials on it. Forbes was a special guest at WWE Live shows in Johannesburg and Cape Town that same month. He was on the cast of the Comedy Central Roast Special in 2019.
In 1988, Forbes was born. Forbes and two of his friends, Vice Versa and Greyhound, started a hip-hop group called Entity in 2002. At the KORA Awards, the group was up for Best African Hip-Hop. In 2006, the company went out of business, which led Forbes to study audio engineering. Forbes and two other people formed the production team The IV League in 2006. Artists like Khuli Chana, ProKid, and JR were given production credits by the IV League. In 2009, three songs came out: “In My Walk,” “I Do,” and “Mistakes.”

Forbes put out the first single from his first studio album, Altar Ego, on July 28, 2010. It was called “I Want It All.” Two singles, “All I Know” and “Victory Lap,” were also put out before the album. “Victory Lap” was a hit, and it was at the top of the radio charts in South Africa. After that, Alter Ego came out on August 23, 2011. RiSA gave the album a Gold rating because it sold so well. The album won several awards, including Best Hip Hop Album at the 2011 Metro FM Awards and Best Male Artist of the Year at the 2012 South African Music Awards.
