During the grand finals of the Overwatch League playoffs, the new Overwatch 2 hero Ramattra was shown off. He will first appear in season two of the Blizzard multiplayer FPS game.
The next hero in Overwatch 2 is a tank named Ramattra. He will join the Blizzard FPS game in December when season two begins. The reveal for Overwatch 2 hero 36 happened during the grand finals of the Overwatch League, which have had some great matches and stories despite a fairly one-note meta that has fans thinking that Sojourn, a new DPS hero, is OP right now. On December 6, when Overwatch 2 season 2 comes out, Ramattra will likely join the team.
Alec Dawson, the main character designer for Overwatch 2, and Dion Rogers, the art director, joined Soe Gschwind, Scott “Custa” Kennedy, and Jonathan “Reinforce” Larsson at the broadcast desk to show off the new Omnic Overwatch 2 tank hero, Ramattra. The character makes his first appearance in an animated movie. He is the leader of Null Sector, and Zenyatta is like a brother to him. He promises to “make a better future for all Omnics.”
Rogers says, “We’ve been working on him for a long time. The first time you saw him was when he was talking to Doomfist in the Havana Archives mission. What I love about this hero is that he’s the start of a new chapter in the story of Overwatch. Rogers says that Ramattra is very determined to protect the Omnics that are still alive because there are only so many of them and they can’t be made anymore.
Reinforce asks Dawson to give us a sneak peek at how he’ll play. Dawson says, “Ramattra is pretty unique because he has two forms. You saw his staff, he does a little bit of poke gameplay, has a barrier, and can protect his team. But he can also change into his Nemesis form.” He’s a big, dangerous target on the battlefield. He marches toward the enemy’s backline and punches them with sharp blows. He’s pretty strong and can do a lot of damage. He’s dangerous.”
