One prime core, based on the ARM Cortex-X3, runs at 3.2GHz on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2’s Kryo CPU, alongside four performance cores running at 2.8GHz and three efficiency cores running at 2.0GHz. These chipsets are 200MHz to 300MHz quicker than their predecessors from the previous year. The processor, according to the manufacturer, is 40% more efficient and 35% faster than its predecessor.
According to the company, the new Adreno GPU is 25% more powerful and 45% more energy efficient. It also adds ray tracing capability to the Snapdragon platform with hardware acceleration. LP-DDR5X RAM at speeds up to 4,200MHz and the latest UFS 4.0 storage are both supported.
Qualcomm’s newly revealed Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 flagship smartphone chipset is now official8 Gen 2 is, like the SD8 Gen 1, manufactured using a 4nm technology. The chipset enhances the display’s capabilities, which can handle QHD+ resolution at up to 144Hz or 4K resolution at 60Hz. A 10-bit Rec. 2020 colour gamut, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision are all supported, as well as resolutions up to 4K at 60Hz on external screens.
Lastly, in terms of imaging, its triple 18-bit image signal processor (ISP) allows for the use of up to three 36MP cameras at once, or up to 200MP in a single-camera setup. Plus, there’s no shutter lag, even with 108-megapixel sensors. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2’s image signal processor (ISP) has been tuned to work with the latest Sony and Samsung sensors, such as the 200MP HP3 sensor from Samsung and the DOL-HDR sensor from Sony.

Qualcomm claims that it has made enhancements across the board to the Hexagon processor, allowing it to perform up to 4.35x faster Artificial Intelligence (AI), and that it can handle more difficult jobs, such as real-time translation of a language into numerous languages. It’s also the first chip ever made to work with Wi-Fi 7, the newest standard for wireless networking.
It comes with the recently unveiled Qualcomm Snapdragon X70 modem from the Mobile World Congress. It supports dual active 5G SIMs, allowing users to connect to two separate 5G networks at once, and it includes its own AI processor for enhancing 5G performance.
Motorola, OPPO, and ASUS ROG are among the companies that Qualcomm has named as partners for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip. Unfortunately, Samsung isn’t represented, but we have high hopes for the company’s next Galaxy S23 series flagship.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC will be included in cellphones. The first Snapdragon 8 Gen 2–powered smartphones, according to the manufacturer, will hit store shelves by year’s end. it was also a best and world best uses ..
