Honor confirmed in an email that the new Honor Magic Vs foldable and Honor Magic 5 Pro will get three major OS updates and five years of security patches.

This means that honor is on the same level as Google’s Pixel line, but the company is still behind Samsung, Oppo, and OnePlus. Some phones from these brands come with four major OS updates and five years of security updates. But Samsung is without a doubt the king of software updates.
Still, this is a big improvement over Honor’s old update policy, which only promised two major OS upgrades and two years of security patches.
Even so, we would have liked to see the company’s standard Magic 5, which costs €899 (about $952), get the same promise of updates. It’s also disappointing that the new update policy doesn’t apply to the best phones from last year, but this is similar to what OnePlus and Oppo have said they will do.
