Cormac Roth, the son of musician and actor Tim Ross, died on October 16 after a long battle with cancer, the family said Monday. He turns 25 this year.
His family said, He is a wild, charged ball of energy, and his spirit is full of light and kindness. Cormac is fierce, but he is also the perfect example of kindness. A kind person who brings so much joy and hope to the people around us.
When we think of this beautiful boy we’ve known for 25 years and 10 months, sadness, tears, and laughter come flooding in. An irrepressible, happy, wild, wonderful kid. The very last one. We care for him. We’ll go anywhere with him.”

Ross is a skilled guitarist, composer, and producer who went to Bennington College. In November 2021, he wrote on Instagram that he had been told he had stage 3 germ cell cancer.
“It took away half of my hearing, 60 pounds, and my confidence, and it will keep killing until I figure out how to stop it and kill it,” he wrote. “But it hasn’t made me stop wanting to live or stop loving to make music. It hasn’t failed me. If you or someone you care about has cancer, don’t be afraid to talk about it.
Cancer is an emotional roller coaster just like everything else. People, make sure you’re doing the things you love. Life goes quickly. It’s a mess. Nobody knows when they’ll be. Relax and go to the doctor. Get your cancer done.”
