But in an interview with CTV News Toronto on Wednesday, several family friends and an ex-girlfriend said the 23-year-old resident was Chris Doncaster. Neighbors said that Doncaster was the grandson of an elderly couple who lived in the house.

South Simcoe Police Chief John Van Dyke found out that the officers who were killed were police officers. Devon Northrup, 33, and Const. Morgan Russell, 54, at a news conference on Wednesday afternoon. The police also released photos of the two officers.
Northrup worked for the Simcoe Police for 6 years, while Russell did so for 33 years. “This is a heartbreaking time for our police department, the affected families, our emergency services, and our whole community.

The SIU has assigned six investigators and three forensic investigators to work on the case. The Provincial Police are looking into police actions that may lead to death, serious injury, s*xual assault, or shooting at people.
SIU said it did not ask the man’s family for permission to reveal his identity. According to SIU’s death policy, a person’s name cannot be released without the consent of their family. In this instance, the man’s family refused to allow the public to know his name. The man’s body will be dissected on Friday. “The investigation is currently going on,” SIU spokeswoman Christie De Nate told reporters Wednesday afternoon.
