Because companies that prioritize their customers through features and practices are rewarded in our auto insurance ratings, this category offers a good overall option for drivers looking for a comprehensive insurance provider.
You can get all the standard auto coverage options from Travelers, along with extras like new car replacement coverage and gap insurance, both of which are useful if you drive a relatively new vehicle. Travelers also offers a host of car insurance discounts.
NJM
NJM is one of our top picks for 2024 auto insurance providers, but it’s limited to five states.
Why it is the greatest:
When it comes to value for money, the greatest auto insurance provider is New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance, or NJM. Our research shows that NJM has the lowest average monthly premium for full coverage auto insurance among the companies on our list of the top auto insurers, at $119. Nevertheless, only the states of Connecticut, Maryland, New Jersey, Ohio, and Pennsylvania offer NJM auto insurance. Auto-Owners or Travelers may offer cheaper rates to drivers in other states. These businesses came in second on our list of the greatest insurance providers for full coverage at the lowest cost.
Geico
Geico is a well-liked and frequently economical option for auto insurance because of its accessibility across the country and wide range of discounts.
Why it’s the best:
After an accident, Geico provides two options for accident forgiveness, preventing rate increases and the loss of your good driver discount. If you don’t have any accidents for five years as a Geico customer, you can either pay for it or receive it for free.
