Alex Patafio: Cause of death
She is studying for a Certificate in Public Interest Law and Policy and has worked at The Arora Law Firm as a legal intern. The school said that she wants to be a criminal defense lawyer and that she is one of 34 students who help out in the community for free.
Patafio told you last month on Channel 2 about a case she was working on to prove a man’s innocence, “You know, we’re happy to get justice today.”
Arthur Manning got six months in jail for stealing a gun. Patafio and another law student, Robert Wilson, both recorded the event on their cellphones. Manning was not there at the time.
After the evidence came out, the charges were dropped by prosecutors in DeKalb.
On Monday at noon, there will be a minute of silence at the Georgia State University Law School. Bereavement counselors are also available.
