A 14-year-old US high school student killed herself after posting a video online of a group of girls beating her up. Her father thinks that years of bullying led to her decision. The New York Post reported that Adriana Kuch, a student at Central Regional High School in Berkeley, New Jersey, was found dead in her home two days after the sickening attack on Feb. 1. Patch says that shocking video shows several students beating up the teen and hitting her with a water bottle as she and her boyfriend walked down a school hallway.
Local news stations saw a 20-second clip in which someone yelled, “You’re going to get that, you stupid bitch!” ABC 7 says that the attacker can be seen punching and kicking Adriana and pulling her hair while other people laugh and film the brutal attack at the train station.
“Adriana wasn’t hurt by being hit with a water bottle. What hurt her was being made fun of and embarrassed over and over again. My daughter was actually unconscious, but they didn’t call an ambulance. Instead, they took her to the nurse’s office. Mr. Couch also said that Adriana “has never been in a fight before, weighs 45 kg, is 1.57m tall, and loves everyone.” News 12 New Jersey said that three of the girls have since been charged with third-degree assault, and a fourth girl has been charged with disorderly conduct.
Triantafillos Parlapanides, the principal of the school, told the news agency that school policy meant that the police did not get called after the attack. He said, “I don’t think the police were called.” “Most of the time, we just sit outside. If a parent wants to tell the police, they can do so. After a child has been suspended, we don’t hit them twice and then report them to the police.
Mr. Couch was angry with how the school handled the situation. He told NBC New York, “A child was shot, and their policy was not to call the police or file a report.” On Facebook, Mr. Couch put up a picture of the attack. “These four girls came up with a plan and carried it out. “If you watch my video, they are laughing and talking about what they are going to do,” he wrote. “I had to take my bloody daughter to the local police station.”
“These videos could have been found right away if the school had called the police, filed a complaint, and asked for an investigation. I want everyone to know what these animals did to my daughter. I won’t sleep until their families have to see them stand before a judge and plead guilty.” Mr. Couch also said that Adriana had been harassed and bullied for a long time by people at Ocean County School District.
