The Holly Shelter Middle School was put on lockdown Tuesday afternoon after the school system got phone calls saying there was an active gunman in the area. Holly Shelter Middle School is on lockdown, and students aren’t getting out until police have finished their investigation and made sure everyone’s safe. New Hanover County Schools has more information below.
In a series of tweets, New Hanover County Schools said, “School dismissals will be delayed until law enforcement removes the threat.” “The school is taking measures to keep students and staff safe by limiting access to the building and keeping everyone inside. We’ll give you more details soon.”
The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office was there. The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office said on Twitter, “Holly Shelter Middle School is on hold because an active shooter was reported in the area.” “We are currently searching the school for any possible dangers. Soon, we’ll get more information.”

The most common game animals are deer, bears, turkeys, foxes, rabbits, raccoons, squirrels, quail, and pigeons. Only certain areas are allowed for camping. The NC Mountains to Sea Trail also passes through Holly Shelter Gamelands.
