The missing Princeton student Misrah Unetti’s body was found Thursday, the Mercer County Attorney’s Office said in a news. Authorities have “kept the family of missing Princeton student Misrach Ewunetie in the dark,” according to her brother. He says they desperately need information and are working to make a timeline of where she might be.
Ewunetie, who is 20 years old, has been missing for six days. This has led university officials to look harder for the junior. Universe Ewunetie, her oldest brother, said that her family was especially worried about her missing the citizens’ meeting on Saturday.

“There are no ongoing updates or communication with us,” he told CNN by phone Thursday, citing campus authorities and prosecutors. “We’re really grasping at straws.”
Universe Ewunetie said that the authorities told him that the investigation would take time. “That’s one thing we don’t have,” he said. “We don’t have time.”
CNN has asked prosecutors and the university’s Department of Public Safety to comment on Universe Ewunetie’s claims. Law enforcement sources say that authorities used hunting dogs to follow Ewunetie’s scent from the dormitory to the lake. Now, investigators are looking around Carnegie Lake on the Princeton campus and in the surrounding area.
Gov. Phil Murphy of New Jersey tweeted that he was talking to different law enforcement agencies about the missing student and “praying for her quick and safe return.”
“We are praying for their safe and quick return,” he wrote. Universe Ewunetie said that his sister had a “precious, beautiful soul” and that she was a “great listener” who “cared about people other than herself.”
Ewunetie’s family “wasn’t too happy” that she went to Princeton because it was far from their home in Ohio, but they “didn’t want to stop her,” according to her brother, who along with other family members put up a flyer for his missing sister on the New Jersey campus.
“It’s very hurtful. “It’s a nightmare I can’t wake up from,” he said, fighting back tears. “I hope she’s out there someplace.” Universe Ewunetie said that her father first tried to get in touch with her sister on Friday, but he was unable to do so and thought she was busy.
Saturday’s calls and texts got through, but no one answered. Sunday’s calls went straight to voicemail. The family said they talked to her roommate, who remembered seeing her sleeping in her dorm room on Friday morning.
According to the university, Ewunetie was last seen around 3 a.m. near an apartment building on its New Jersey campus. Monday, the university said that she had gone missing and asked that anyone with information contact the Department of Public Safety.
“Today, as part of the ongoing effort to find missing student Misrach Ewunetie ’24, law enforcement on and off campus has increased, including the use of helicopters, drones, and boats,” the university said in a community update Wednesday morning.
Officials said Ewunetie has black hair, brown eyes, and a light brown complexion. She is about 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs around 130 pounds. The president of one of the school’s 11 eating clubs told the student newspaper The Princeton Daily News that Ewunetie volunteered there Thursday night. Alexander Malavsik, president of the Terrace Club, told the newspaper that Ewunetie was “on duty” and doing housework while the club was playing live music.
